COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of the West Coast IPA is well-balanced and huge in hop flavor and aroma without overpowering bitterness. A blend of hop varietals yields tropical fruit aromatics that give way to flavors of grapefruit and pine. The balancing malt presence brings out a bready character and light caramel undertones that lay the foundation to showcase the hops. Welcome to the endless West-Coast Summer!

On tap at Tony’s Darts Away in Burbank. Not much on the nose but almost tastes a little Belgo. It ask works wonderfully. Looks nice and bright and murky. Tastes like candy with a nice hop blast at the end.

Orange peel nose. Cloudy amber, thin head. Orange peel flavor. Some grapefruit notes on the back end. Fairly standard fare, but nicely done.

Bottle @ The WWGT2D? Tasting. The pour’s deep gold with a small head. The nose is lemon, herb. A bit of pacific driftwood. The taste is strongly bitter. Lemon tart and cake batter. Some leaf pile. Light body, soft carbonation. OK.

poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a tulip glass, it is a hazy, cloudy almost opaque yellow-orange with a nice head. It’s labeled a "West Coast IPA"... Not sure what make it west coast other than the fact that it’s brewed in LA. At first I thought it had similarities to many other IPA’s: nice citrus aroma, generous head, a touch of bitterness. What makes this IPA different is the amount of biscuit malt flavor it has. Yes, there are the expected grapefruit and pine hop notes, but this has way more malted barley presence than any other IPA I have had in recent memory.

Pour on tap at the brewery, yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought big pine, grass, orange peel, citrusy notes into caramel, toffee, slight spice, the hops shine through on this one. Taste is nice, big orange, grapefruit, and lemony notes into grassy, spicy hops, nice biscuit, caramel in there, finishing bitter. Their best beer.

bottle from Craftshack, copper orange pour, caramel malts and medium pine & citrus hops. perhaps a tad to old. underlying fruitiness. Average IPA

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared as a golden blonde liquid with a thin layer of foam. Aroma is faint with only a minor scent of musty hops. Luckily, the flavor delivers more of a punch with a bitter bite of hops that shine in the spot light while the malts do their job and prop up the beer and its hidden 7 %ABV. Nice job and I would consider this West Coast IPA to be standard to the style for the price.
