Sweet malts with a tinge of metallic bitterness to begin with. Some almost undetectable whiffs of fruit. A dry finish which left me a little unsatisfied. Rough yet respectable. fonefan (52396) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2008

Cask at paisley as alberts bitter(4.3%). Alround rating: Swet malts, nutty, malty bitter. Been there done that, next! harrisoni (19553) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2007
Cask handpull at Victoria, Earl Soham. Chestnut, lasting beige head. Excellent condition. Strong hop and rich brown sugar malt aroma. Smooth in mouth, and then a big burst of hop on the finish. Really peppery. Decent best bitter, with a very heavy hop finish for an English beer. Malts are toffeeish.

Beer Festival 2007. Dark golden beer with a lightly malty aroma and a malty, caramel and dry flavour. Overall a light caramel dry beer.
A Mes rate:
Cask at the Wenlock Arms. Sweetish aroma. Red brown with very little head. Tart and sweet with plenty of caramel notes. Unexpected bitter hop finish. Slightly unusual but good. pivo (2689) - GERMANY - FEB 12, 2006
Murky brown color, fluffy beige head. Doughy, grainy toffee. Tight bitter, but slightly chemical taste. Medium body, gritty mouthfeel. Interesting, but not a good balance overall. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 5, 2006
Thanks a lot Chris_o! Nice hazy copper color with a fizzy head. Light malt nose. Light malt and toffee taste that improves as it warms up.
