Cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Ruby/dark brown, very translucent with a small to medium tan head. Some roasty notes, chocolate, nutty aroma. Slight astringency. Taste is bittersweet initially, then quite sweet with a sulphurous note. More chocolate and some coffee in the long finish along with some acrid notes. Lively natural carbonation on the mouth. Not the best porter in the world.

Cask at GBBF 13, 13/08/13. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is light roast, cardboard, toffee. Taste comprises earthy tones, light roast, papery, cardboard, dull. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, a little watery in its consist, dry finish. Pretty mediocire to poor job of a porter!

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Ruby brown pour with a fine, creamy head. Mild roast aroma with sugary malts. Some dark malts and sugar start flavor, faintly roasty, light cocoa. Light to medium in body with delicate carbonation. Weak roast finish with some herbal hops. Quite drinkable but very one-dimensional.

Gravicask at GBBF 2010. Darkest mahogany colour, no head nor lace. Lovely nutty burnt wood nose. Thin in taste and very very bland. Dissapointing.
