In short: A clear dark golden ale that tastes like freshly ground coffee. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 26, 2011
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear bronze body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is like walking in a coffee shop while holding a brownies in your hands. Taste has a solid toasted malt backbone, a bit of dry caramel, toasted brownies and plenty fresh coffee beans. This beer really smells and tastes like a bag of freshly grounded coffee beans. I’m used to get coffee in darker/roasted ales so getting that overwhelming fresh coffee beans flavor in a lighter color beer with no roast or chocolate or other was surprising at first but overall quite enjoyable. And the food at Earth is great too. They have greasy food and healthy food. I never thought I could one day say that healthy food can be excellent. I was right. My greasy pizza was fantastic.
On tap at Earth Bread. Poured a deeper amber color with a small to medium sized off white head. Aromas of coffee, roast, grounds, and coffee beans. Nice coffee profile in the aromas. Tastes of coffee, grounds, and some caramel sweetness. j12601 (13205) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 14, 2011
On tap at Earth while meeting up with everyone to start RBSG. Pours a clear amber brown with a thin white head. Big coffee, coffee and caramel. Smooth, very gentle carbonation, toast and lots of coffee. Lots of coffee and a light cream note. Long roast and bitterness on the finish. Tap at brewpub. Deep amber with small white head. Notes of coffee grounds, caramel, light smoke. Coffee, some light piney bitterness in the finish. Cool idea, but not really my bag. egajdzis (6777) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2011
Darker amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, light roast, caramel, and nuts. Taste of nuts, roasted malts, light smoke, coffee, and a sweeter finish.

Tap. Pours a clear dark copper body with a one finger frothy beige head. The nose has a good bit of coffee with caramel and toasty malt. A light smokiness and a bit of hops as well. The flavor is surprisingly full of coffee, especially for the color, normally coffee goes with darker beers. Nice slightly sweet caramel malt base, finishing with a light bitterness and some caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. This is pretty great. I like that they used the coffee with an Amber, it’s unique. More importantly, it’s good! adrian910ss (2597) - Doylestown, PA, USA - MAY 25, 2011
On draft at Earth. Pours a semi clear dark amber with a medium sized frosty off white head. Aroma of strong coffee beans and malt. Taste is much the same as the aroma. Slipstream (2710) - USA - MAY 22, 2011
Called Gryphon Amber and on draft at EB&B. Amber is not my favorite style, but this was a good one. Fine floral aroma with some honey sweetness, and a full, pleasant flavor. TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - APR 30, 2011
Pours a mostly translucent amber with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of light coffee, caramel and toasted malt. Flavor of smooth roasted coffee caramel and toffee.
