Brown color with a small light brown head. I get the herbs in the nose, but couldn’t recognize basil. Good flavor. Dry with a nice hoppy bite. Little warming alcohol at the end.
Growler courtesy of OldSock aka The Mad Fermentationist. My 100th saison rating on this site. The pour is a clear, deep tea amber with no head formation even though the growler opens with an enormous "pop." Nose is odd pizza spices and fairly intense phenols. Taste is herbal with apple juice, lemon, and pizza crust. Thinner, slightly tart palate. Not so great. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2011
From growler, courtesy of santos999. Light sweet aroma, grainy and pale malt, herbal. Bit of yeast. Dark copper amber clear with thin head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts dry with light herbal character - presumably the basil. Smooth light alcohol-phenol finish, a bit tart with mild sweet after. Very tasty. Not much saison character, nor much of a honey taste. adrian910ss (2575) - Doylestown, PA, USA - AUG 30, 2011
On draft at Earth. Pours a deep maple amber with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of cloves, light banana, nuts and a hint of spice. Taste is much the same as the aroma.
