Big Hop IPA – the first of the brews from Pittsburgh’s newest and MICRO-est microbrewery to hit the streets. Truly, a hopped-up American IPA with loads of Centennial and Cascade hops, and just barely enough malt backbone to balance it out. Our flagship brew.

On tap @ Beer Temple. Orange/amber color. Off white head, good lace. Aroma: sweet malt & resiny hops, nicely balanced. Flavor is medium bitter and lightly (malty) sweet. Body is fuller than I expected from 5.8%. Firm bitter finish. Nice!

Not overwhelming or excessive in the use of hops and a pleasant, non-bitter aftertaste. No recoil on the nose.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 A: Orange-amber body with a moderate fluffy off-white cap... decent retention but mediocre lacing S: Bold, assertive pine and grapefruit bitter notes, slight sweet malt backbone T: Less profound than the nose, but decent none the less... unfortunately doesn’t live up to the "big hop" name... decently balanced malt-hop ratio, and subtle pine and grapefruit notes... not particularly bitter M: Smooth, medium-light body, somewhat rounded finish O: Decent all around ipa... not as complex as the big boys, but a good drinker nonetheless

an interesting IPA enjoyed a touch after its prime. Poured a dirty brown orange with a nice hop profile. Solid beer, would love to try it fresh.

Fad: Orangegul uklar øl med et flot skumhoved. Duft af humle, citrus og en smule fyrre. Klassisk amerikansk. Meget fyldig alkoholprocenten taget i betragtning. Fornem øl.
