Big Hop IPA – the first of the brews from Pittsburgh’s newest and MICRO-est microbrewery to hit the streets. Truly, a hopped-up American IPA with loads of Centennial and Cascade hops, and just barely enough malt backbone to balance it out. Our flagship brew.

My kind of beer. I wish it was more hoppier. But, nice hoppy aroma, good hoppy sweet brew. Good balance, good co2 mix. Well done!!

Decent and refreshing big IPA, but pales in comparison to the juicy west coast IPAs I’ve been drinking lately.

Draught. High creamy white lasting head. Dark orange brown body. Malty fruity hoppy aroma and flavor with a nice amount of hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste.

boto (2214) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Draught @ Headkeeper: This one pours a slightly orangish color. There was a small off-white head that left almost no lacing. Milder aroma for an IPA. Some pine and earthy hops, as well as some bicuity notes. It has a nice taste. Somewhat bitter, but not overly so. Milder pine and faint citrus hops. Biscuit and slightly toasty flavors also. Decent caramel malt body. A nice brew.

Slightly hazy copper with an off-white head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Hop presence is bold but remains in balance. Great beer.

A lightly hazed orange amber IPA with a thick moka head. In aroma, a nice pinhey hops, grassy and dirty, very nice. In mouth, a smooth IPA with good malt, British grassy hops, light grassy notes, quite nice. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Aroma is sweet floral hops. Taste is also floral hops with a bitter bite. Overall a pretty good IPA, even though it isn’t my style.
