1 liter flip top bottle. Poured a dark black color with a larger sized tan head. Aromas of wood, vanilla, earthy, and some coffee. Tastes of wood, roast, lighter chocolate, dark fruits, earthy, and vanilla. I was getting the woody and vanilla, but the bourbon was almost non-existent. Lightly thin body but nice and smooth. Light lacing left on the glass. egajdzis (6730) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 30, 2009
Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla oak, bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, toast, and smoke. Taste of roasted malts, charred wood, vanilla, light bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, and a bit of dark fruit, with a touch of alcohol in the finish. Thanks to hopdog for sharing this one. Pours a deep black with a large bubbly creamy deep tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, light roasted malt, some coffee, light floral notes, caramel and very like bourbon. Flavor of light roasted malt, wood, earthy, caramel, nuts, some vanilla and not a whole lot bourbon. zathrus13 (1776) - Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA - JAN 21, 2009

On cask at Pipers Pub. Poured a pitch black color with a pretty dark tan head. Aroma is of really burnt malts, like the original, but with nice smooth notes of oak and bourbon. Flavor was a bit suprising to me. Not completely overwhelmed with the bourbon flavor like alot of these are, just silky smooth with the deep roastedness and also detected were a few chocolate and smokey hints as well. Only thing lacking is a little weakness in the body.
