Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a small foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was dry black licorice and cherry. The flavor was very tart and sour black licorice, a light herbal presence and was a touch medicinal. Long dry, tar, and sour black licorice finish. Medium body. Ok.

From growler. Tart nose, roasted barley and smoky, with light chocolate and some spicy character. Dark brown hazy-clear with thin brown head. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Starts tart with cherries and sour mash. Kind of like a brown sour but more acidic, less sweet. Nice tart finish with roasted smooth finish and after. On tap at Bocktown Robinson. Great beer! Aroma was just average. Could pick out some roasted malt, but it was very faint. Good, but faint. Pour was a deep dark brown with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was delicious. The roasted malt was there in the beginning but mid sip through the finish were delicious tart and refreshing. Slightly vinegary and notes of sour cherry. Not enough to call it a fruit beer, but the flavor is there. Mild carbonation. Glad I got to try this one! cheap (5793) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2013
This, my sour beer friends is one of the best beers I’ve ever had from EE. On tap at the bocktown, nice place. Pour is quite dark. I have nothing bad to say about this beer except that I wish it was one of EE staples. Does scott even have a sour staple? Ironically, the initial smell came across somewhat like a mild stout or porter but that left no inkling of the friendly tart thing going on in the tase bud arena. Yes, friendly easy and nice, would be a pleasant beer to introduce somebody to tart beers. I was really impressed with this from start to finish. Very nice carbonation adds to the wild experience. Probably should be styled as a sour, not a traditional tho I have had some pretty good mildly tart trads. Finish? What finish, its all gone! Give me another, just lovely. Overall excellent sour beer fun time! Drake (13639) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Tart aroma with notes of spices, smoke, earth. The taste is tart citrus, earthy, nutty notes. Medium bodied. bth122 (1547) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2013
Draft at Penn brew. Brown color. Caramel notes, nuts. Flatter carbonation. Sort of watery. Light sour. Cherry tart notes. Not bad.
