Growler bought at the brewery. Listed as a Oatmeal Stout and a Black IPA, it is certainly only the former. Pours a jet black hue with a medium brown head. A very nice nose of roasted coffee, grains, a earthy ashy note. The flavor is a smooth rich Oatmeal Stout; sweet milky and roasted coffee, ash and almost smoke, light chocolate. Nice. This poured a dark brown color with a medium sized beige head. Aroma was fairly roasted, light chocolate with an abundance of citrusy hops. Flavor was more on the stout side than IPA, nice and roasted but not overly bitter, a bit dry, with medium hop bitterness and flavor. Decent. hayduke (5204) - Eureka, California, USA - AUG 15, 2016
