Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. I’ve just heard the phrase "my father would have killed for a rectum of a horse." which puts everything into context doesn’t it? Dark brown beer with a lasting thick dark beige head. This is a very good best bitter. Brilliant malts, great peppery hop on the end. This is really good. A very good best bitter.
Cask (4.5%), 1/2 pint, hand-pulled at State Bar, Glasgow on 28 Sep 2017: roast malt aroma, chestnut brown with a thin bubbly fawn head and sparse bubbly lacing, burnt toffee, caramel, nutty malt, a bit medicinal, oily. The_Osprey (9148) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2017
Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as East London Nightwatchman. Pours a dark orange brown, translucent and still with a foamy grey head. Aroma is gummy sweets and fig biscuits. Body is rounded with soft to low carbonation. Taste is soft liquorice with plasticky notes and gummy sweets, some light straw-like hop character against cola sugars. Quite sweet. Flavour starts sweet, there’s a watery middle with a nutty, woody astringent finish. It’s very easy going but not something I’d drink a lot of - insipid might be a harsh word. Maybe too sweet is fairer. Still ok. (6-4-5-3-13=3.1) gyllenbock (9852) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 23, 2017
Cask at Oliver Twist. A bit hazy light amber with a small head. Smooth with malt, some nuts and fruit. Soft and easy to drink. A decent one.

Cask @ Akkurat. Interesting mix of nutty, rather dark flavors and a dark, almost blueberry-like fruitiness. Drinkable and well made. Served in perfect condition. Thomas_W1 (962) - Rastatt, GERMANY - JUN 26, 2017

Aroma: herbal notes and toasty caramel. Flavour similar added with some dark berries/fruit. Very smooth mouth-feel indeed. A bit weird, as I am not that familiar with proper English bitters. Good though. Mr_Pink_152 (5547) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2017

Rich caramelly red, brief spongy head. Sweet caramelly aroma. A touch bitter and harsh in the mouth. Flattish palate, a bit watery. Earthy dry finish. Nah.
