(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 20 April 2017) Black colour with brief head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, milky chocolate, dark bread, a touch of liquorice and a balanced coffee bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Smooth, tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

50 cl bottle @ home. BBE 04/2017.
Pours dark red-brown color with a huge off-white head. Strong oat on the aroma, slightly ashy malt notes, subtle hops and some cocoa. Flavor is dry malty with faint chocolate sweetness, oats, mild bitterness, distant coffee. Carbonation is medium, short dry fruity finish. Doesn’t feel that old yet but the coffee might turn to vegetables soon. Okay.

From meny; black with very big brownish head; aroma is gentle dark malts, molasses, a quite strong spicy note as well; taste is spicy and gentle fruity fading into dark chocolate, with burnt notes, finish spicy and bitter with some lingering chocolate; texture is on the thin site but gets more silky as the carbonation flattens, high carbonation

Bottle, 500ml. A dark black colour with a small brown head. Aroma of toasted malt with burnt notes. Flavour has sweet malt, oats, caramel and cocoa. Low carbonation Not bad but there are many better oatmeal stouts out there.

mjs (7532) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 7, 2017
(Cask at Kitty’s, 20170207) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, earth and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts , caramel, sweetness, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A bit confusing brew but still rather nice.

DraftDodger (1628) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 7, 2017
Copenhagen 7/2 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Black no nonsense label giving you the necessary information. Very austere. Pours opaque dark brown with light brown head. Bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam. Dense and creamy. Aroma is not particularly intense. A little sweet. Notes of cocoa, chocolate and dark roasted malts. Gets more potent as the beer warms up. Fairly strong carbonation and a little bit thin palate. Flavor is light but quite sweet. Almost no bitterness. Sweet aftertaste of cocoa. Nice but quite harmless - bordering on the toothless.
