500ml bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. Black beer with lasting tan head. Lots of coffee on this. Quite a tasty stout. Last beer of a Friday evening tasting and certainly a good finishing beer. Full in mouth but not alcoholic. Decent coffee stout.

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and oats. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, oats, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle. It pours very dark brown with a creamy khaki head. The aroma is light roasted with dark chocolate and some ripe fruity notes. Very smooth and light roasted flavor. Some chocolate and charcoal. Really nice balance.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear burgundy brown with a very lively beige head. Sweet roast aroma, a little vanilla. Medium body, some lovely overripe dark fruity notes, subtle mushy roast, plums and figs with a dry finish with a very subdued bitterness. A very British Porter with the roastiness way down. I like it. 060916

500ml bottle (Aled by Mail)
Impossible to pour - all head. Otherwise would have been 4, as its a nice dark mahogany, and the doughy tan head is persistent. Initially a candle wax, freshly extinguised, aroma. Anna said ashy. After that theres a chocolatey roast. Medium palate with quite high carbonation, but swirling makes it a bit slick. Sweet roasty taste, more like a heavy brown ale or brown porter than a stout. Some sharp fruity sourness too. Finish gives me a bit of dirt and ashiness. A bit sub par for a dark beer.

Opaque brown color, tiny brownish head. Light toasted caramel aroma. Light-bodied. Malt beer flavor, some licorice, light hops in the finish. Not standard oatmeal stout.
