Near black colored with red hints, little brown head. Dark chocolaty aroma with cacao and smoky notes, some Danish hints with vegetables and yeasty flowers. slight licorice also present. Medium bodied, carbonated palate. Flavor is disappointment: caramel, Danish flowery yeasts and mild alcohol, aftertaste dries with lemon yeast. Well, not too balanced, aroma is fine, flavor has something going on. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 13, 2009
0.5 l bottle, 7.6 %, thanks Timo A and Hannu N! Opaque dark brown color with big sorbet head, highly carbonated. Sweetish malty and chocolatey aroma with nuts, raisins, prunes and raspberry. Sweetish roasty flavor with chococolate, coffee, raisins, licorice, honey and raspberry. Some medicinal notes remiscent of cough medicine. Full bodied with some roasty astringency in the finnish. Nice artisananal porter. Would be better with less carbonation. TBone (17428) - Pori, FINLAND - JAN 10, 2009
Bottled (batch 1003, tappet 24.1.2008).
Almost opaque black color, firm creamy tan head. Aroma of peat and Islay smoke malts.Flavor has wet wood, smoke, licorice, malts, some sweeter dark fruits. Sweetish and smokey light aftertaste. Flavors are very gentle, palate is quite light for 6.6 % beer. Interesting experiment. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 10, 2009
Bottled. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Aroma is smoked and roasted malts along with chocolate mild leathery notes. Flavour is leather, chocolate, some dark dry fruits and quite smoked. Aftertaste is smoked wet wood along with licorice and some leathery notes. Complex and nice. Ungstrup (37208) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2008
Bottled. A black beer with a red-brown shine under a huge dark brown head. The aroma is sweet and quite complex with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, raisins, dried fruit, and berries. The flavor is sweet and very malty with notes of alcohol, dried fruits, raisins, chocolate, herbs, as well as some hops giving it a light bitterness. The alcohol tickles the tongue, warms the palate, and burns slightly in the throat, before the dry, roasted, and bitter finish sets in.

WHOOOA!! Insanely over-carbonated, bursting out of the bottle. Pours quite muddy dark brown with a giant, fizzy, bubbly, off-white head. Aroma has dark chocolate, some coffee and light yeasty notes. Very high carbonation, making the beer far too spritzy for it’s own good. Flavour is nice, though, good subdued smoke, some clear liquorice and coffee. Long, lingering, dry, roasted aftertaste.
Black colour with a light brown head. Roasted, light coffee bitter aroma with fruity and light smokey notes. Roasted malty, light smokey flavor with notes of liqourice. Skinnyviking (9550) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 21, 2008
Bottle. Had difficulty in stopping the beer from running out of the bottle. Poured it into a glass but it kept coming out of the bottle. High and lasting creamy light brown head. Pitch black body. Sweet roasted malt aroma with a bit of coffee. Flaovr though relatively strong coffee liquorice wlith smoke and hops bitterness. High carbonation, long aftertaste. Bottle 50cl. Pitchblack body and a VERY lively brown head. Very strange "burned" and sharp nose. Sweet smoke dominates the body. Sweet finish. Not a favorite of mine - a bit too strange. charlotte (5347) - rødovre, DENMARK - AUG 4, 2008
