Draught at the brewpub. Lightly hazy nut brown. Intensely nutty and roasty. Mid-sweet and medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Lightly salty with persistant nutty roastiness. Fairly low bitterness. Well balanced. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 3, 2009
Draft @ brewpub. Very stable off-white aerated head on a dark amber-brown clear beer. The earthy, fresh, minerally aroma is dry yet malty. Nice sweetness carries the body. Nice bready malts here. Quaffable palate but the lingering sugars do become a bit cloying. MiP (16054) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Clear brown colour. Stable tan head, plasticky. The flavour is OK roasted, almost like some brown ales. Has a vinous touch, but very faint, giving it a bit of character. Clean finish, slightly watery. Quack-Duck (9540) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 18, 2008

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Malty and strong aroma. Tastes spicy and strong, a bit alcoholic, finish a bit hard. Good beer!

Bottle. Brown color. Caramel and some flowery hops in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor. Medium bodied. Hint of chocolate in the aftertaste. Tasty dunkel. rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2004
Bottle, from Vroni’s in Bamberg. Chestnut red, moderate off white head and gentle condition. Disappointingly brief aromas of caramel and buttery toffee, much the same in the mouth but with an emerging hop note that soon disappears. Finish is mainly burnt toffee with a touch of bitterness.
