Bottle from Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Aroma has sweet spices, Xmas cake and a slight sour edge. Flavour is initially ginger, brown sugar and a smidge of mushy apple. It dies somewhat, in a watery wash, but does give a faint reprise of maple on the finish. Fizzy in the mouth, perhaps too gassy. Really don’t know what this is. The color is nice dark, but the smell and taste are simply awfull! Cherries, herbs, spices. Little above average carbonation. To me it was just a big blend of a lot of things I don’t like.

Couleur brune/ambrée, col épais ocre.
Arôme donne immédiatement place au sirop d’érable et est accompagné de malt caramel allant sur le biscuité; Houblon est discret et rajoute une touche fleuri.
En bouche, notes de noisette, sucre brun et sirop d’érable. Le palais garde aussi cet aspect pain d’épice/biscuit.
Bonne effervescence et une levure qui reste très active comme l’avait démontré l’ouverture de cette bouteille. Houblon tend à aller vers le pin. Fruits noirs aussi à noter une fois que la bière arrive à t° ambiante.

Thank you to share this one with me! If I read the comments here, I’m pretty sure we got a bad bottle... still was good for a year or so, but I didn’t get this good feeling about this beer at all... Little sour smell, spices, fruits, lots of spices, something anice/mint like. Weird. Head is ok, but don(t hold good. Taste kicks very hard in. Sour fruits and spices. Serious gusher! Pours muddy dark brown - looks as if a lot of small yeast particles comes along. Big, frothy, off-white head that stays for some time. Aroma has clear maple syrup sweetness, coriander, some pepper, caramel, light chocolate. Medium carbonation, light prickly, okay dryish mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sugary sweet, there is clear notes of the maple syrup, some caramel and milky chocolate. There are loads of warm raisins (glögg) notes as well. Fair malty bitterness with some yeasty notes and light viniousness at the end. Okay.
