Bottle from Steven. This was a well conceived and executed beer. I was surprised. The prunes were at the right level for the maltiness which was around the entry weight for a Dubbel. The palate was pretty balanced too - not cloying at all. allmyvinyl (10932) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 30, 2013
750ml bottle shared at home. Pours hazy amber brown, a few floaters. Lots of plum, other red fruit, lambic-style yeastiness. Good sour taste, creamy texture. Very enjoyable. 77ships (10810) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 11, 2013
Personal contribution. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. Pours opaque orange which just seems like a very odd colour for a prune beer for me, reasonably big white head. Nose is thick yeast, spices, hay, slightly bitter, sweet white sugar, white bread, not really getting nay prunes,… Taste is very heavy on white bread, and very thick yoghurt, creamy yeast, slightly fruity but apples and not prunes, following by some hay, bitter herbs, lots of sweetness, towards the finish and in the back, I am getting some sugary prune jam, very sweet jam and not actually fruits. Some almost candy-like sugar coupled to the yeast. Body is very yeast. Expected a bit more from this one but it is okay. Benzai (16536) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - APR 29, 2013

Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - APR 19, 2013
Medium to bigger sized, vast and slowly changing creamy beige foamy head on top of a murky brown colored beer. Lots of small chuncks are floathing on all levels through this beer.
Aroma is quite nice, reminds me a bit of a Lambic or Wild Ale.yeast, cellar, fruit, wilder yeast, wood, dust, manure, cherries, hint of stone and malts.
Flavours of cellar, stone, wood, yeast, bitter, fruity, some spices, yeast, wilder yeast, light soap, light rubber, soke grainy malts, dust, dry peach and some dry ish herbs.
Aftertaste is raisin and prunes, dry, wood, yeast and malts.
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy mouthfeel. Very nice beer. Didn’t expect this at all. Love to see what Jean van Roy would create with prunes! olio (10469) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 16, 2013
75 cl bottle @ Timo A. 2008 vintage.lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 16, 2013
Pours hazy brown color with a minimal head. Aroma of plums, some sugary notes, wood, red wine hints and some toffee. Flavor of ripe fruits, mild caramel malts, toffee notes and some dark berries. Still a bit sweet and quite fruity, some wine notes appear on the nose.
750 ml bottle, thanks Timo A. 2008 vintage.tderoeck (10002) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 5, 2013
Pours a dark amber brown colour with a small head. Aroma of toasted malts and plums. Flavour of toasted malts, sweet plums, grass, raisins and herbal notes. Tangy citrusy notes as well. Medium bodied, high carbonation and a sweet fruity finish. Still in mint condition after all these years.

Cloudy amber to light brown beer, small irregular yellowish head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, apple skin, apple souce, bit spicy, raisins, sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet, sugary, fruity, some raisins, prunes, plum jam, little sourish. Aftertaste: apple skin, bit sour, little bitter, lemony, ripe plums.
750ml bottle BBE 15/10/2014. Pours opaque dark auburn brown with a thick, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is fresh plum, light sour, berries. Taste is plum, somewhat sweet, malty caramel, some dried fruit and spiciness. Clove is very strong in the beginning. Somewhat vinous. Prune in the aftertaste. Palate is quite full, not much carbonation. Rather underwhelming. There’s a lot of sediment and pouring it in makes the drink fuller, more like a regular dark Belgian rather than a fruit beer. The plum disappears to be filled with rounder dark fruits and caramel. Probably better this way. Scoring without sediment.
