COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the winter sun hangs low in our sky, some 93 million miles away, solar filaments, giant arcs of cool, dense plasma explode from its surface. Filament Winter IPA celebrates this cosmic wonder. Pale, Munich and Caramel malts create a rich malt character with a honey-like flavor. A bounty of Crystal, Chinook and Centennial hops combine to lend spicy, citrus hop notes.

Clear deep golden hue with a fluffy, foamy, off white head. Big resiny and leafy nose of earthy hops. Crisp and big hoppy flavor with a ton of earthy leafy hops, lots of bitterness, a bit of grapefruit rind, a bit of floral bitterness, and a bit of boozy undertones.

Amber body with a fluffy, off-white head. Nose of green hop, with a dankness to it. The body too has a greenness, dankness, and something of a vegetal quality to it. Don’t get to much of the advertised citrusyness, but it’s a solid, earthy IPA.

Bomber from Mile High. This is a really good looking beer, to start things off. The body is a rich amber color and very clear with a persistent white head and thick lacing on the goblet. Lots of hops in the aroma impart an earthy, piney character. The palate is fairly hefty and well carbonated. They certainly were heavy handed with the crystal malt, but were just as generous with the hops for balance. Strong back-end bitterness hits the mouth with a sweet caramel flavor and notes of cedar, pine, and a little citrus. I’m glad this one attenuated well, it keeps the caramel malt character in check. This is not a hop-bomb, but rather a big, bold, well-balanced IPA. I like.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, citrus, perfume and light pine. Palate was light to !edium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, light pine and a hint of perfume with a smooth dry moderately bitter finish.

22 oz bottle shared by Alex. Thanks! Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a lasting fizz head. Sweet caramel like aroma. Flavor is a very nice balance of hops and toasty malts. Ideal winter IPA. Very tasty.

From bomber. Amber pour with a light haziness and a thick sticky white head. Aroma has some pine and citrus. Taste is pine and bitterness, with some nice malts in behind that get better as the beer warms. Medium sticky mouthfeel.

Keg at the taproom, 08/11/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pale malts, orange, straw, light grapefruit, earthy hop notes. Taste comprises madarin, straw, orange pith, light bread dough, caramel malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semui drying close. Ok easy drinker but lacks any hop presence and depth.

22 oz bottle. Aroma: malty and citrusy, with hints of graham cracker. Taste/Palate: sweet and crisp; finish is long and bitter. Slightly on the bitter side of a perfect hop/malt balance, but still a glorious beer!

julesjis (256) - Oregon, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Poured from a 22. Appearance is the standard IPA profile. Aroma has a piney, spruce smell to it. Flavor is hoppy then spicy with a bitter finish.

3.5
Jow (4091) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 26, 2014
Bottle at home continuing Oregon themed memorial day. Pours golden amber with fine beige head. Nose is light hops and caramel. Tastes of light piney hops, caramel, earthy bitterness, tea, some pepperiness, light honey sweetness. Standard yet solid enough IPA not sure all that wintery it’s 80 degrees out and this is plenty enjoyable.
