COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Phobos is named after the Martian moon that circles the red planet. Eight malts were used to give this beer a rich red color and deep caramel flavor. Hopped to balance with citrusy Azacca hops, Phobos finishes creamy and smooth.

Pretty solid red that isn't totally overhopped. But the single hop Azacca is a nice one, and used in good amounts here to make it come through but not dominate. Ecliptic portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper amber with a medium sized white head. Soft malt, a hint of dark stone fruit, malt fruit, sweetness, caramel. A touch of dusty citrus. Medium bodied, soft malt and toast, a touch of banana, sweetness, malt, a bit of citrus. Pithy bitterness on the finish, but well balanced.

Bomber. Caramel malt aroma with notes of toasted malt and citrusy hops. Pours opaque caramel colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with caramel and toasted malt flavors. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with grapefruit and tropical fruit hop flavors cutting through the maltiness nicely. Well made red ale.

Malty brewed poured from tap at the Ecliptic brewpub. Attractive Martian Red glow. Goes down smooth and easy on the palette. Great entry in the Amber ale space.

A pleasant layered red ale with nut, bread and caramel on the nose. Medium bodied, lightly bitter and citric flavor, with the same deep malts that are in the aroma.

Bomber - pours a clear deep mahogany with a med tan colored head. Not much aroma but a bit of nuttiness, toasted malt and earthy hop. Uninteresting flavors of amber malts, caramel, roasted nuts and a hint of citrus hop. Meh

Bottle.

Head is initially average sized, creamy/frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber to medium brown.

Aroma is moderately malty (toasted seeds/bread, roasted nuts), lightly hoppy (blood orange, grass), with notes of black tea, toffee.

Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.

Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.

A nice little quaffer...dank hop aroma without being raw/resinous, with some nice secondary notes as well. Nice flavor balance too, both flavorful and slammable. Ecliptic is pretty inconsistent, but this one works for me.

Deep dark Amber with a sticky thin ivory head. Lovely nose with a big amber and biscuit bready body with a orange zest and light pine note throughout it. Smooth nutty caramelly and amber malt flavors with a lighter hop flavor than the nose had, though there’s still this leafy flavor throughout and a light pine bitterness. Crisp yet mostly sweet and amberish, but with lovely bitter grassy balance.

Bomber poured a clear redfish amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness and cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, cocoa and earthiness with a smooth lingering earthy finish.
