Bottle shared from Simply. Clear golden with fizzy white head that lasts a few minutes. Very musty apple skins, dried apple, dry cellar notes, hay, soft minerals, more dusty herbal notes. Not that fruity, more dusty actually. Very dry, no sweetness.

GoufCustom (1917) - HONG KONG - NOV 24, 2014

330 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Golden colour; Less than one-quarter finger head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Almost no lacing with small fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and fruity aroma of apple wine, with wood barrel, moderate cellar, sugar, light yoghurt and tannic; Close to light sweet taste of apple wine, with strong wood barrel, yoghurt, light carbo and light tannic; Light body. Watery and dry crisp palate; Mouth feel is dry and fairly tart, more to a Demi-Sec level than a Brut. Light sweetness is tastable, sometimes water like feel but more than compensated by strong barrel and tasty light yoghurt. Pretty good Quite dry after taste. Crisp and woody to mouth.

Comments: For a Brut, its a too watery without enough booziness to back up, but it has very fruity nose and pretty good barrel and light tart taste. A competent Brut Cider but just not top.
