COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This elegant aperitif cider was developed in collaboration with maître liquoriste Deirdre Heekin. Using our Northern winter cold to concentrate fresh-pressed cider from Vermont apples, we fermented the concentrate to make a pure dry cider infused with a special blend of Vermont-grown herbs. Refreshing and aromatic, ORLEANS HERBAL has delicate apple flavor and white floral, honey, and anise notes. Serve over ice with a twist of lime, or use it in cocktails NV 16% ABV 1% residual sugar 750ML 6 bottles/case

Bottle at TradeBook Tasting. Poured a deep golden colour. Nose of sweet apples, lot’s of herbal notes, thyme, soapy, tart granny Smith apples, basil, and spices pepper. Taste of sweet apples upfront, followed by a ton of herbs. Very dry finish

Bottle bought through Eden. Pours clear deep golden leaving some oily legs on the glass with a swirl. Smell is fruity and herbal with tart apples, basil, oregano, rosemary, minerals, lemon peal and alcohol. Taste is tiny sour, slightly bitter, fruity and herbal. Mouthfeel is dry, slightly tart, tiny astringent, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sour and slightly bitter with tart apples, savoury bitter green herbs, hay, minerals, lemon peal and alcohol. Very dry and very strong. Kinda hard to muster. Tried it with lime like it was recommended on the bottle which really managed to bring the herbs, fruit and alcohol together. Solid, but not what you’d expect.

August 17, 2016. Bottle.
Clear golden with no head Aroma is very herbal and fruity with earthy notes, anise, basil, oregano, juicy apple pulp, tart apple skins. Taste is earthy herbal, tart fruity with a dry herbal finish, some licorice notes, tart apple skins. Light to medium bodied, oily texture, dry, flat.
Intriguing aroma but too herbal and dry, not what I prefer in a ice cider.

Bottle at TradeBook featuring Mark 160817. Fruity apple aroma, herbal, grapes, floral notes. Dry apple aroma, yeasty, floral notes. Not bad but not what I expect from an ice cider.

Bottle shared with friends. Pours a deep golden body with no lace. Nose is very unique - notes of basil, herbs, pesto and light bitter apple skins. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with notes of apple skins, flowers, soft spice, basil, honey and a delicate perfume character. Really unique cider - and at 16% abv, essentially no cloying boozy character.

On-site @ Eden: Light yellow. A little sediment. Smells like a salad. Lots of herbs. Clover, pepper, intense. Juniper berry, honey, light Apple. This has a lot of flavor. It’s actually unique and very good I’m a fan.

Bottle at James’ for cider and Big Alice night. Pours a clear gold. Herbs and soft apple on the nose. Tastes of Italian herbs, possibly marjoram, basil, thyme. Somewhat odd, but tasty with some weirdness going on. Tart and tangy, herbal. Strange but tasty.
