The second in a series of barrel lot releases from our Vintage Oak Series. Barrica #24 is an imperial stout aged six months in bourbon barrels from the US. It’s a sippin’ beer. Enjoy!

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark chocolate, light wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt - chocolate bitter, dark malt, wood, chocolate, light bourbon - wood - oak. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170513]

Bottle. 10.5%. Best before 29.12.20. 10 cl. sample. Pours black with a tan head. Roasted aroma, with (milky) chocolate and coffee. Dusty overtone. Hint of wood. Flavour is roasted with a hint of chocolate. Liquorice bitterness in the finish. Chocolate note. Dusty. Overall really good, smooth. 13.01.18.

Bottle at home, bought in Oslo, 15th December 17. Pours black, no head to speak of. Aroma is liquorice, dark chocolate, barrel and liquor. Taste is barrel, wood, liquor, dark chocolate, rich, but bitter, good and balanced barrel hit. Good.

33cl bottle purchased @ Mille et une bières Cormontreuil. Robe pétrole sans mousse. Belle complexité entre la vanille, le café, le côté boisé du fût, la douceur du lactose. Le tout entouré d'une belle rondeur apportée par le bourbon. Petite amertume en fin de bouche sur les épices.
