A hazy brown beer with a thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also some notes of hops. The flavor is very light - a little like a Newcastle Brown, but still with a better body which makes for a far better beer. The flavor is malty and roasted with notes of caramel and nuts. wheresthepath (2342) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2010
[500ml bottle from Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbott] Pours dark brown with a negligible head and no carbonation. Tia Maria aroma. Sweet black coffee continues into the flavour, balanced well against the bitterness of burnt roasted malt. Some chocolate and cough mixture in the finish. Very smooth and easy to drink - the alcohol is (dangerously) not apparent at all. Good stuff. fonefan (49554) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 1, 2012

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, burnt malt, dark roasted, coffee, nutty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Well balanced chocolate and coffee.

Flaske 500ml på Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot 27 Sep 16. Delt med Rune. Ultramørk amber. Middels høyt lett farget skum. Rimelig stabilt. Aroma av røstet malt. Litt skarp. Smaken karamell. Mye smak men litt monoton. Godt håndverk.

Bottle purchase from Tuckers Maltings online. Poured a very dark brown with no head, aroma mostly of malts and some nuttiness as well? Taste is similar nutty, roasty, quite distinguished very decent again from Teignworthy. Quack-Duck (9486) - Down South, GERMANY - JUL 8, 2007

Bottle Brown with a small head. Aromas are nutty roast malts with liquorice. Chocolate with hazelnut and coffee syrup. Flavours are sweet nutty Malts with grapefruit bitterness. Gritty cocoa with a nutty bitter finish. The_Osprey (8211) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2014
500ml bottle BB Sep 2017, into a pint glass. Looks almost exactly like cola, just a ring of white head with no lacing. Aroma has cardboard, bisto granules, yeast, some dark chocolate. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is bourbon biscuit, more dry hazelnut than walnut, a bit of tangy metal towards the finish. Nice enduring musty roasted coffee-ish aftertaste. Decent Sunday night sipping beer. 3.4 was my original thought, though I may be being harsh. Mr_Pink_152 (5107) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 25, 2015
Bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Deep nutty brown colour with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted and nutty malts. Taste is fruity sweet to a light bitter finish.
