Sampled from 22-oz bomber. Pours a semi-hazy reddish brown colored brew with an average sized off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, a hint of raisin, candy orange sticks, and a hint of grassy hops. Taste is full bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, some plums, toffee, a hint of molasses and some grassy hops. Finish has a little alcohol burn with brown sugar plum and a mild hop bitterness. Pours two fingers of head on a cloudy light brown colored body.
The aroma is a pleasant barnyard, grain and lemon mixture.
The taste is a sharp malty sweetness, a hit of lemon bitterness, caramel and pine.
The texture is thicker with moderate carbonation.

Bottle from Bev 4 Less: I was real worried about buying this because of how long it has been sitting on a shelf outside of a cooler, but I had never seen it before and decided to take a chance. Has already started to develop a lot of dead yeast which is visible as a dark cloud of brown in a glowing tea brown hue. Thick formation of a soapy head that fizzes with noise and takes several minutes to retreat. My nose detects a sweet and chewy caramel scent backed with a hint of spice and old malt and yeast. The flavor has started to deteriorate and has morphed into a tart and mess of malty goop. Must have been much better when it was Christmas time but rating stands as tasted. Should have known better since this as organic ale and even if it has only been 5 months or so, that can result in a seriously disgusting beer. Breweries need to take their expired inventory back or risk the chance of receiving low ratings on their expired beer.

22. 2010 vintage. Pours a crystal clear bright rubied amber with a dense and creamy tan head that doesn’t stick around for long. Sweet gingerbread, candied plum, molasses, and toffee nose. Clear reddish copper pour, white head. Aroma is malty, lots of caramel, breadiness, and candied orange. Tastes hoppier than I would have expected... still has caramel and toasty bready flavors, but moves to a big hoppy bitterness, kind of grassy with more sweet orange, a touch of lemon rind. On draft at Capones. Pours an orange caramel with a medium sized frosty off white head. Aroma of light spruce, orange peel, coriander and hops. Taste of orange peel, coriander, hops and caramel.
