A rich roasty brew with a deep "espresso" character. Originally brewed for the Imperial Court in Russia, this stout is a warm festive drink made with the cold Russian Winters in mind. This complex stout is brewed with a combination of nine domestic and imported malts. Only the finest Pacific Northwest hops are used to provide the perfect balance in our award winning beer.

Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, light coffee. Draft @ Eel River. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some alcoholic hints. Warming roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a long warming roasted malty espresso finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste aswell.

Clear dark red-brown beer. Big creamy tan head. Semi dry palate, a little soft. Dark toffee with a light touch of sweetness and a mild bubblegum streak. Creamy malt before the semi dry finish. Comes over like a dark barleywine! Interesting beer!

Tap at Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival in NYC. Pours black with a medium, brown head. Malty aroma with some chocolate and alcohol notes. Sweet flavor with mocha and some hints of vanilla, along with some roasty bitterness. Full in body with average carbonation. Finishes sweet and malty with lingering roast. Good beer.
