A rich roasty brew with a deep "espresso" character. Originally brewed for the Imperial Court in Russia, this stout is a warm festive drink made with the cold Russian Winters in mind. This complex stout is brewed with a combination of nine domestic and imported malts. Only the finest Pacific Northwest hops are used to provide the perfect balance in our award winning beer.

Wow! Creamy, espresso goodness in this Russian imperial stout. Fit for a Czar, this stout is a thick, coffee-cocoa goodness bomb of wonderment. Huge thick brown head, lots of rings in the lacing, and a bolt of flavor that is as flavorful as I've had in a long time. Get this beer now. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2015 bottle. Almost back with a tan head that fades to a fat coat. Aroma of mocha (maybe a hint of roasted malt, but really mocha), licorice, prunes, vanilla. Sweet and rich with a surprising earthy touch. Some nice dried fruit before a finish thatís at first just bitter enough to tidy up the sweetness. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Bitterness creeps up a fair bit. Pleasant enough, if a little jumbled.

Pours a nice black with a good amount of brown head. Nose is chocolate and just a hint of chocolate. Typical weak malt. Taste is chocolate, coffee, raisin, molasses and just a bit of bitterness. Medium bodied and surprisingly bubbly. There isnít anything wrong with this but there isnít anything special either.

From tap @ Taphouse. Pours black with a slightly tan white head. Aroma is spot on how I like imperial stouts, roasted malts and some sweet coffee aroma. Taste is a tad disappointing, in that it dissappears white quickly. But sweet black malts, some licorice and vanilla. Still a nice beer though.

Bottle- pour is a rich chocolate brown with no light penetration and milk chocolate head the quickly dissipates to a thin head rimming the beer. The aroma is alcohol, caramel, and heavy roasted grains. The taste is initially sweet, raisins, chocolate, prunes, and toasted grains. The finish is slightly sweet, and strong malts. Overall a great sipping beer for a cold winter night.

650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, large tan head. Lovely aroma of roast malts, oak, oaked red wine, liquorice, chocolate, prunes, mild coffee. Slightly sweet flavour with the same elements as in the aroma, the roast malts, coffee and chocolate notes come forward stronger now, also hints of vanilla. Moderate hops (28.5 IBU). Warming mouthfeel. Excellent beer
