33 cl bottle. For so many, this will be our only beer from a Moslem country; although Turkey has in fact a very secular government. Passed up the chance to try it in Russia two years ago, and now its here in the States. Bit of a skunk when I first open it. Pours a pretty decent gold lager color, fizzy with a disappearing head. I actally taste some bitterness first off, not a lot, but enough to be surprising. I do get some adjunct to it, but it has lots of prickly effervescence to keep it from being too sweet. Bits of spice here and there give this more complexity than most world-wide exports. It stands out somewhat in a style dominated by blandness. Of course if its being exported from just one source, you need to play the odds to snare an unspoilt pack.

From old tasting notes. Deep yellow gold. Rocky white head. Assertive dry hop aroma. Faint sweet malt flavor. Dry finish is mildly tangy.

Fles, vaker in het Turkse restaurant en ook wel thuis. Beetje zwak-waterige smaak en een overdaad aan malt, tendeert naar een lager. Wel verfrissend bij de maaltijd.

Pours a golden colored, clear beer with a bubbly, big white head. Smells of sweet wheat, a hint of grass and a herbal freshness. Has a very light body, very refreshing with a well fitting, higher carbonation. Tastes of a sweet, toffee maltiness, coated up by wheat and a bubbly effervescence. Develops a short hop presence of dried herbs, together with a subtle, bitter peak. Finishes with a nice lingering dryness, balanced by toffee malts. Solid, well balanced and very light Pilsener, which is definitely to be found on the sweeter end of things.

I didnt find it very pilsenery. Had flavours of warm spices, dark fruits, brown bread and cardboard. Not the worst beer in the world.

50cl (brewed in Russia) from Prisma, Tallinn. Pours pale golden with a modest, fast dissipating, white head. The usual mild grainy aroma, hints of ripe fruits and cooked vegetables and possibly grass. Sweet and grainy with low flavour intensity and bitterness. Rather watery and not much flavour, but better than I remembered it. Would possibly be an option instead of water if its very hot and I want a beer and this is the only one available.
