Efes Xtra is one of my favourite strong beers after Tuborg Red. Basically it’s a strong beer that doesn’t always give you the bitter finish of a strong beer. And surprisingly the cans come at the exact same level as the bottles.

1/2 L bottle- Poured yellow with a small head. Fairly full bodied, smooth with little taste. Surprisingly ok. heavy (2920) - Split, CROATIA - DEC 20, 2010
12/12 0.5 l can thanks to my mum who brought from Turkey. It poured pale golden body with medium to bigger head that lived for quite long time. Lemony and sugary malty aroma, not really like strong lagers, more similar to malt liquors. Very sweet, grainy and alcoholic flavor, over the top. Slightly bitterish herbal also, but alcohol itself gives a note of that ugly bitterness. Fuller in body, of course, sticky with too sweet and again alcoholic finish. Could a beer be more sweet than this? And in uglier way? oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 23, 2010
Canned (thanks Christoph N!). Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is metallic, petrol like, quite evil and alcoholic. Flavour is quite much the same. A not too pleasant malt liquor...

Much-feared 500ml tin. Bright gold with a loose sudsy head dying to nothing. Sweetcorn chutney spread over light spruce and watery apple aroma; some glue and sherbet, maybe Madeira cake. Syrupy and almond-accented with the alcohol immediately apparent; boozy warm, stilling carbonation, pastry, rubber, horrible paracetemol bitterness...and yet, incredibly bland and lacking in fruitiness or any discernible personality at 7.5%. Vile and pointless.

From a can from my dear parents, who always get me beer in foreign countries. Pours an unimpressive look, with a blonde body and a white head. Aroma of adjuncts and grain. Taste is not so bad. One of my friends commented that this is the best malt liquor that he ever had. The beer does not try to overdo it, rather it just pushes the limits of pale lagers... I guess. Got the light hops and grains all up in here. How apt that my 900th rating is of a malt liquor. I love it. Haha. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2009

Some hop aroma. Clear golden coloured and strong in alcohol with a little dryness in a crisp malt finish.

Floral hop aroma. Some carbonation. Small white head. Golden coloured strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate with a smooth and slightly bitter malt finish. dorianpl (1) - Tarnobrzeg, Warsaw, POLAND - OCT 21, 2009 does not count
Canned, 50 ML 7,5%vol. Clear golden coloured beer sweet fruity light alcoholic aroma as I like. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 4, 2009
Can. Gold, clear. White cap has decent retention. Sweet, swilly aroma has fruit candy. Palate is not too bad and is not too sticky. Fruity flavors predominate and is actually not too sweet. It’s ok.
