COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A typical Austrian Märzenbier, mildly hoppy, highly fermented and full-bodied in taste. With 5.2% alcohol by volume and original gravity of 11.8ºPlato, it is a highly drinkable, well-rounded beer with a pronounced malt flavour. Award winner at national and international beer competitions, Gold Medal winner and holder of Monde Selection International High Quality Trophy. “Märzen” is derived from the German word for the month of March, März. Traditionally, beer was brewed in the autumn, and the barrels of beer would be covered with ice during the cold winter months. By the time the ice melted in March, the beer would be ready to drink.

Jonb5 (576) - Greater London, - OCT 19, 2012
Pale golden colour, clear, small thin head which didn’t hang around long, tiny amount of lacing retained. Aroma was malty, strong hints of cabbage and vanilla, points to Saaz. Tasted bready, notes of sweet apple as well as malt, hint of vanilla. Soon went flat, texture was quite thick, fairly smooth. Overall, drinkable but too thick to be a Helles and slightly lacing depth to be a Maerzen.

330ml bottle [thanks Gunnar for this unexpected gift!]. Crystal clear, orangey, thin golden colour with small, frothy, fading, white head. Weak, grainy, minimally strawy and mellow malty aroma. Taste is mellow malty, minimally grainy and husky, a touch of corn flakes, honeyed cereals, minimally metallic hoppy counterweight.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with strong visible fizz and medium grayish white head. Sweet nose with a hint of red berries and lots of bread and cereal malt. Light body as basic drinking beer tends to have. Pretty basic industrial märzen-influenced lager.

ciocanelu (3119) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - AUG 12, 2017
Clear light golden color with slightly off-white head. Aroma has clean malt and noble hop character. Taste is quite balanced for a märzen, very clean malt, slightly grainy, not toasted or overly sweet. Finish has a light bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation. It’s not really what you would expect from the style but overall it’s a clean and easy drinking lager.

Lekker smaakvol Oostenrijks pils. Veel mineralen, gebalanceerde smaak en toch goed doordrinkbaar ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours crystal clear light holden color with a white head that dissapears almost instantly. Aroma is very malty and grainy. Pale malts mainly. Taste is malty, light and grainy. Kinda skunked too to be fair. Watery texture, soft carbonation, light body.

Helder geel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en fruitig met iets van druiven en rozijnen.

33 cl bottle. Golden color, clear, thick white head, disappearing, some skunk. Aroma is malty, grainy, light metallic, vaguely sugary. Taste is flattish, sweetish, soft bitter end. Average carbonation, oily texture, short finish, mild alcohol. Boring, noting going on.

Bottle. Average Austrian macro. Sweetish, syrupy, grainy and metallic, with a touch of astringency. Meh.
