Hardly any aroma and not a pretty beer. Some water, iron, herbs and spices. Decent, but no winner. Tap at the Winterbeerfestival in Hoogeveen, 2013.

Bought a bottle at Bert’s Bierhuis. The beer has dark brown cor and cream colored head, CO2 level is average. In the aroma tones of caramel and some dark fruits. The taste is a little sweet with a light bitter with tones of caramel, toffees and some chocolate. The finish has a light bitter which is noticable for a while. A pretty good dunkler bock which is easy to drink. This is worth repeating.

Guter Verlauf, guter Geschmack - stimmt.Test vom 7.11.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - JAN 21, 2011
A dark brown Bock with a nice red cast pours into the glass. The creamy head unfortunately disappears relatively quickly. The smell is surprisingly restrained, almost too lax for a Bockbier. Only a little sweet malt comes through. The Bock starts malty and earthy, subtly bitter coffee and roasted malts with nutty hints. The aftertaste is increasingly nutty roasted malt and bitter. As with all Eibauer beers that I’ve rated so far: no high flyer, but always high average!
