Eichhofener Helles from Schlossbrauerei Eichhofen from the town of Eichenhofen. Color is golden but not as intense yellow-gold as others. Its almost pale, has a large bright white head, too. Aroma is the same as above, very Pils malty with some bitter hops around it. The flavor is slightly sweet, bitter and a hint of lemons in the background all in one swallow. Up front is bitter-sweet, middle is maltier and bitter and a slight sourness, back is where the lemon aftertaste comes. The sweetness and lemon are strongest on the aftertaste, yet while it swirling in the mouth it stays bitter. Its also a tad on the thinner side for a mouthfeel, but not drier. Im not sure if I like this one as much. Youd think all these complex flavors would add up to more, but its feels more like their not all in sync. Overall, a really good beer, but its both a tad too bitter and a tad too sweet. I can taste the lemony aftertaste strongly after I swallow, but sadly thats the best part. Again, dont get me wrong. Its a damn good beer! Just a little underwhelming after having drunk the Regensburg Spital Helles.

33cl relabeled & rebranded handgrenade bottle, as Eichhofener Helles Lager, bb07/2015. Delicate, finely tuned rich pale malts with a good helping of almond in the nose. Dry, delicate grainy taste with hints of apple, hay, almond bread and white bread. Very enjoyable, crisp composition.

Bottled, from Biershop Bayern. Lightly hazy pale golden, mid sized head. Grassy fruity nose. Mid dry with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Fruity with some grassy hops and light notes of butter. Mild bitter finish. Nice, quaffable helles.

Bottle @ Drinkers Pub, Eindhoven. Clear yellow to light golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, fresh crisp hops to my surprise, a soft malt bitter finish, lightly sweet-bitter. Average body and carbonation, easy drinkable. Nice thirst quencher.

A nice Bavarian helles, mild, but not dull, it packs enough decent flavors in it.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Quite zippy, nice head. Starts hoppy-fresh, a bit flowery, modest dry. A little bit metallically. Finish a bit more spicy, still fine hoppy. Quite drinkable. Not bad!
