COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CITRA SINGLE HOP IPA: The first release in our series of three single hop beers. Three of our favorite hops: one grist bill to unite them all. The malt body for these brews is simple, yet elegant, designed to showcase the wonderful hop flavours and aromas. First up is Citra, probably the world’s most renowned hop variety. Is it all its cracked up to be? We decided to put this hops fabulous tropical fruit flavors on display: think lychee, passion fruit and guava, with some ripe stone fruit.

jamestulloch (4367) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 11, 2017
Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of stewed tea, biscuit and grapefruit pith. Flavour of lemon, caramel and brown bread. Thin to medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. A bit safe and pedestrian, but not bad.

Benzai (16764) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 8, 2017
Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. A bit hazy medium to dark orange color, full sized off-white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is moderately malty with heavy citra hoppiness as was to be expected. Taste malts, hops, citra hops, hop bitter. Nothing too spectacular but a decent single hop IPA for sure. Decent body and carbonation.

VsXsV (4560) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 20, 2017
Bottle from the European Secret Summer Santa 2017. Thanks Steve! Light hazy copper liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, grain, caramel, toffee, light butter and light nuts. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of grain, toffee, citrus and light metal. Has got a astringent husky thing going on. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A terrible showcase of Citra hops, just a bunch of caramel malt and oxidization. This beer belongs in the ’90s.

33cl bottle on the balcony of my Bangkok hotel room. Ah this is the life! Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, fruity citrus hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a crisp, light, fresh, fruity, light pepper spice, light peppermint hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
