Bottle at home from drinkstorebeerfest5 (1207) - Cloneen, IRELAND - FEB 19, 2014
Rich citrus and guava with slight chocolate undercurrent. Cola with a lacing of beige head. Full bodied, tingling carbonation, tangerine, pithy bitterness, long bitter finish. Spot on BIPA.
Absolutely phenomenal BIPA. Pours a stout black with a nice tan head that last for a little while and leaving good lacing on the pint glass. Aroma of coffee beans, vanilla, grapefruit, citrus, some burnt toast. The striking part of this beer is the wonderful balance between that Porter-like roasted character and the American style hop notes. Delicious, much much better than the rating would suggest. s_hartshorne (2847) - wakefield, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2015

24th Jan 2015: shared bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meet. How big was Steve’s bag? He must have brought half of Ireland’s beer selection with him on the flight! Cheers mate, for yet another bottle from the Emerald Isle. Surprise, surprise, this Black IPA is in fact Black, the head a tanned beige affair. Loads going on in the aroma and flavour stakes: Piney, citrusy and dark fruity with an exotic spicy feel as an afterthought in the finish. Nice. mR_fr0g (14242) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2015
Bottle shared at the Cotteridge convention, 24/01/2015. Many thanks to BeersIveKnown for the BIPA tick. Dark black coloured pour with a creamy head. aroma is floral citrus, faint dark malts, roast and a little berry. Flavour is composed of resinous hop, dark malts, juicy fruits, smooth and mellow. Ticks all the boxes. Palate is sticky resinous, moderate carbonation. Sizzler80 (501) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 6, 2014
Pitch black pour with a smallish brown lid. Decent lacing. Malty, citrus, lemon, coriander, pepper, slight pine, catty. Chocolate, coffee with the hoppy bitterness providing the backbone. Some sweetness from the malts. Very good.

33cl bottle. Pitch black with tan head. Aroma gives plenty of sweet, dank papaya and tangerine, pine needles, grapefruit and a decent bit of peppery spice. There’s some burnt coffee hanging around too. The taste is pretty hefty: lots of tropical fruit, burnt coffee, some tobacco, thick pine, big grapefruit, dark roasted malt. Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation lifting everything. Really rough bitter fruits in the finish, some heavy smokey roasted malt bitterness. Massive bite to it. Very decent stuff. elbernays (1735) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 30, 2013
Pours black with low tan head. Nice aroma mango, spruce, some spice. Sweet with nice sharp bitterness. Good beer.
