3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: malt with notes of bread
Taste of malt and bread. Very little hops. Bittersweet aftertaste

Third of a litre on draught. A: Golden, clear, large thick looking head which faded fairly quickly, some lacing clung to the side of the glass. S: Fresh noble hop aroma. T: A high in IBU Pils, gave way to hints of honey and finished bitter. M: Crisp, moderate carbonation. O: Took something from Jever Pils and Keesmann Herren Pils, which fits as it’s between the two places. Craftakt (180) - Hannover, Lower Saxony, GERMANY - AUG 12, 2017
Sehr herbes, hopfig grasiges Pils welches eisgekühlt ab dem dritten durchaus trinkbar ist... ChadPolenz (1847) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 25, 2017

2015 BJCP Category: 5D German Pils
AROMA: Strong skunky smell. Mostly from lightstrike, possibly from Noble hops. Lightly sweet grainy malt base is present as well. Clean fermentation profile. 8/12
APPEARANCE: Brilliantly clear white gold (2-5 SRM). Large white foamy head. Retains and laces well. 3/3
FLAVOR: Medium spicy/peppery Noble hops and minor bitterness. Surprisingly sweet malt taste on the backend with slight graham cracker flavor. Lightstrike was immediately evident on the first swig only. Palette pretty well balanced (though lack of hop dominance could be due to age of bottle). Aftertaste is a little sweet. 14/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Quite crisp, but slightly slick texture. Very sessionable at 4.9% ABV. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Definitely on-point for a German Pils. Not bad considering old bottle. Probably amazing fresh. 7/10
TOTAL SCORE: 36/50
I’ve been drinking this Pils for a little while now, and it’s about time I rated it. I think this brew does an admirable job of offering a very high-quality, fresh, and authentic German Pils to the American market. However, a great Pils should be very sessionable, and i found that Einbecker’s initial class doesn’t really hold up after two or three cold ones. It begins tasting watery and poorly balanced. It is still quite good, but noticeably tired. This is still the best German Pils I can get my hands on, now that the superior Lammsbrau and Tannenzapfle are no longer available. It’s difficult to be wholly impressed after becoming familiar with those two titans.

Bottle - as Brauherren Pils, new design - golden color, white head. taste is grainy, low sweetness, heavy german bitter hops, medium dry finish. one of the not very refreshing pils beers. typical northern german. okay. Grumpelmies (398) - GERMANY - MAY 29, 2017
Bottle. Clear golden looks of a typical Pilsener. Nice head. Aroma is grassy, grainy with a touch of citrus fruits. Taste is grassy, grainy and slightly fruity without being sweet. Some hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation. Crisp, clean and easy drinking. It’s alright. wombat23 (1828) - Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2017
33cl bottle. Clear pale gold, fizzy short-lived white head. Aroma of pils malt and grasses. Taste is pils malt, grass, some apple. I would say it is tangy as noted in the description, and it is also fairly bitter for a pilsener. Decent.
