Camons (11281) - Hasselager, - FEB 16, 2013
Bottle @ Home. Pours dark amber with a fading light brown head. Aroma of malt, burnt caramel, dark fruit, nuts, some alcohol. Flavor of malt, caramel, dark fruits, little licorice, little alcohol. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, soft carbonation, little warming alcohol in the finish. 160213

330ml bottle. No apparent code date. Appearance: Deep brown with ruby red undertones, slightly hazy, and a moderate off white foam head. Aroma: Bready, toasty, dark fruit malt notes of raisin and dates. A touch of skunky sulphur from the green bottle. Taste: Rich malt sweetness and intense melanoidins of bread crust, toast, raisins, and dates. A touch of spiciness on the tongue. Just enough bitterness to balance. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation and touch of alcohol warmth. Finish: very malt forward on the finish, like a raisin jame on toast. Overall: A true German take on the style with rich melanoidins that dominate the flavor. Just enough bitterness to balance the right bread crusts and dark fruit body. Might be a little thin and the bottle adds some skunkiness, but otherwise a very good dooplebock

Aus der typischen Flasche getrunken (Edeka HSH). Leichte Spritigkeit dominiert ber Malzse. Schwchelnder Krper.

Bottle. Green glass. Bright orange color. Clear. Skunk aroma right away; light-struck. Some malty notes past the skunk. Sweet flavor. Grains. Fairly smooth mouthfeel, creamy-slick. Bitterness is present. Crisp finish. Not enjoyable.

ElDesmadre (3625) - Mikołw, POLAND - DEC 29, 2016
Bottle. Caramel, bread crust, dried fruit, wort in the aroma. Unfortunately, the flavour is boozy, alcoholic in an offensive, vulgar way, rendering this beer virtually undrinkable.

ContemplateBeer (2049) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 24, 2016
11.2 oz. bottle from Louisville Beer Store. Aroma: Caramel loaf with a whiff of spicy hops; a little musty. Appearance: Red, transparent copper body with soft carbonation holding up a sticky tan head that settles into a patchy skin. Flavor: Semi-sweet malts are well met by spicy hops; light bitterness never quite overtakes the malt sweetness; the finish has a little lingering bitterness. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: While this sweeter interpretation makes the bock more accessible in a broad sense, I fear it would come off as a little simplistic to bock lovers.

DocJitsu (1864) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - DEC 7, 2016
Pours a clear copper-golden with an eggshell colored head. Sweet apple, subtle, soft metallic note, and faint caramel all blended nicely. Mostly soft mouthfeel that gets harsher at and after the finish. More toasted malt caramel come through in the flavor than is noted in the nose. The fruitiness is secondary. Becomes pretty bitter at and following the finish.

Aroma: celler, roasted dark malts, alcohol. Appearance: clear rubby color and creamy head. Taste: low bitterness, warming alcohol, celler, roasted dark malts, quite dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, alcohol in finish. Overall: Rather average beer, there is too much alcohol.
