A very solid winter seasonal. It’s smooth and sweet, with just the right touch of bitter and spice. It has a fruitiness that isn’t overpowering and a great mouthfeel. It’s almost too smooth and easy drinking for it’s 7.5%ABV.

Bottle: Clear deep red colour, nice creamy head. Aroma had lots of malts, caramel, dust and dark choclate. Flavor: is dominated of caramel, alcy, lots of malts.citrus, some dry fruitynes. Big body, and a werry nice long malty/alcy finish. This is a werry nice bock beer.

Bottle. Dark, reddish amber with a thin tan head. Rich earthy aroma with some spice and pine. Very full flavor with a slight effervescence - toasted malt, slightly sweet with some coffee and spice. Slight bitter undertone nicely offsets the sweetness. Very nice.

Bill Becker (1037) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 29, 2014
It pours a very dark gold/brown with a 1 finger of white foam. Another brew with fine lacing. I have to say that the smell is awesome. Lots of caramel malt with a wee bit of grain, maybe a hint or two of chocolate. The very same taste wise. A bit of a stronger grain presence but not out of line for the style at all. Smooth mouth feel, almost at the top of the food chain as far as Doppelbocks that I have tried. Just as good as Celebrator, imho

Bottle, amber orange, really nice bready malt aroma and flavor, one of the better doppels I have tried, you have to like the style to enjoy but very solid all around, bottle throws you off as a gimmick

Bierverkoster (5) - GERMANY - DEC 21, 2014 does not count

On tap at Bull & Bush. Pours brown with head and lace. Aroma of light malts. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of amber malts, light chocolate. Overall easy drinking and flavorful.

330 ml bottle, very interesting shaped. Purchased from Lifesource in Salem OR. $2.79 Dark amber coloured beer with a lovely smooth creamy white head. Aromas of raisins, figs, walnuts and toast. Taste similar to the aroma...creamy consistency. Dark plums..rum soaked raisins..delicious. .Excellent smooth , thick and luscious mouth feel. My kind of doppelbock.

Bottled:
Beautiful dark reddish amber. Creamy, but short lived head. Fat, sweet malt on the nose. Sweet malty flavour with notes of raisins, currants, toffee and hazel nuts. Warming alcohol finish. Well balanced and tasty.

fresh deep malt and barley toasted right from the farm. some sweetness and alcohol it is a bit slick yet refreshing with little evidence of hop, until the finish. beautiful orange color and aroma this is what i like in a malty brew. a tart, tangy sideshow character of something like carrot on Maple leaf, how do those Germans make that fine, definitive beer?
