This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Beer of month club selection. Pours amber color without much of a head. Nose was pure malt...nothing special. However, the taste was very sweet - caramel, some nuttiness, and a touch of malt. Not usually a fan of this style, but I thought this was pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mało intensywny zapach - delikatny chleb i estry owocowe. W smaku chlebowe, karmelowe, ciemne pieczywo mocno, do tego słodkie, umiarkowanie gęste z trwałą pianą. Poprawne, ale są lepsze.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt with caramel, roast, dark bread, and notes of raisins. Flavour is sweet with a surprisingly firm bitterness. Body is medium. Certainly drinkable, but this doesn’t have the depth of a great Doppelbock.

Bottle from saveur biere. Nice use of the malts, pretty sweet and balanced beer

appearance: medium brown, clear, creamy light beige head. aroma: caramel, toasted rye bread, some nuts and raisin. taste: golden raisin, caramel, toasted nuts, brown sugar. finish: as it warms, it gets slightly bready and just a hint of earthy, grassy hops show up. notes: Good palate, on the lighter end for the style, good flavors. Enjoyable even on a hot Florida day. Bottle at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from a cart by the Toy Story ride.

Botella. Clear amber brown colour, small white head. Sweet aroma of toasty caramel and malt along with some dark fruits and alcohol. Flavour: Sweet, well tasted maltiness, caramel, some dark fruit, light chocolate, medium bitterness.

Flaska från julkalender. Mörk, nötbrun kulör med smutsvit skumkrona. Doft av bröd och tobak. Mediumsöt kropp. Smak av kavring, nötter, mjölkchoklad, pumpernickel och karamell.

Bottle. 6.7%. Best before 29.09.17. Pours a dark, golden/chestnut brown, with a light tan head. Decent lacing. Rather malty aroma, a bit fruity and with a hint of chocolate. Slightly dusty. Flavour is rather malty as well, again with a chocolate note. Fruity and a bit dusty as well. (Rye) bread note as it warms. Sweetish, bitter finish. More malt, fruit and light chocolate. Overall good, with a nice malt profile, though a wee bit clying in the long run. 31.03.17.

12oz bottle. 2/8/16 bottle date. Appearance: Deep rich ruby red, brilliantly clear, with a moderate off white foam head. Aroma: Toast, caramel, chocolate, and a touch of black cherry. No noticeable hop aromas. Taste: Rich bready, toasty, and molasses malt sweetness. Bread crust really stands out on the swallow, with a touch of chocolate. Minimal hoppiness just enough to prevent the sweetness from being cloying. Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy bodied with some syrupy quality, and a low carbonation. Finish: lingering bread crusts and touch of chocolate. Overall: Decent Doppelbock that is heavy on Munich malt character of toasted bread crust, but seems to lack the malt complexity of German versions that have a rich dark fruit flavor. Beer seems a little thick and syrupy, which throws off the balance a bit, likely due to the age of the beer

Dark brown with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour are intense with toasted malts, caramel and a milk chocolate type of smooth sweetness.

*Bottle from Rudat. Malty smooth roasted chocolate beginning. The malts are dark and round with a nice smooth sweetness. Slightly bitter rich dark aftertaste. Nice typical Doppelbock.
