COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

oobawa (1409) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 27, 2016
Good porter, deep and viscous with a raisin undertone floating around dark chocolate and a coffee-tinged acidity. Finishes dry and roasty but a tad harsh, spiky around the edges and boozy for the relatively low ABV.

Piwo nieprzejrzyste w kolorze brunatno czarnym z bardzo ladna sredniopecherzykowa lekko bezowa piana. Aromat przyjemny porterowy aczkolwiek moglby byc troche bardziej intensywniejszy. Jest troche wedzono palony, mamy czekolade i kawe. Wszystko bardzo fajnie do siebie pasuje. W smaku troche nut opiekanych, kakao z polslodkim finiszem. Wysycenie na srednim poziomie, goryczka dosc dluga i raczej palona. Troche za lekki i moglby miec wiecej ciala ale naprawde fajny.

Pours dark brown to black color with medium dark beige head. Medium body, moderate carbonation, some lacing. Earthy aromas of coffee (mocha), chocolate, toasted and burnt malts, molasses, rye bread, wood smoke and toffee/caramel. Nicely toasted flavors of milk chocolate, coffee, roast, dark fruits, nuts, leafy hops and dark malts. Moderate bitterness and sweetness. Although it has 6% Alc., it’s very easy-to-drink. Smooth and roasty porter. Enjoyable, no doubt about it.

The beer sure looks like a mean porter. The color of the bear is pitch black on the eye. Een with a strong light, a ruby red glow barely shows. The beer pours a nice layer of rather rough almond coloured foam. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly, but a little drape remains. The smell is quite mild. I smell some dark toasty notes of roasted barley, chocolate and coffee. It’s a pitty that the smell isn’t stronger, because the mild smell that is there is lovely. The taste is better, but it is not the best tasting porter ever. There are some distinct toasty flavours. I taste delicious roasted barley, coffee and a dark chocolate flavour. There is also a nice alcohol flavour and nice hop notes. The balance is nice. Al the aromas and flavours are just a little to watery.
