With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2017 Næsten sort. Skummet forsvinder lidt hurtigt. Første snif gav lidt metal. Det stoppede heldigvis. Ellers er det ristet malt og kaffe i næsen. Overraskende let i munden. Smager godt og ret ukompliceret.

12oz bottle from Total Wine in Brookfield. Pours almost black with a dark beige spongey head leaving a lot of streaky lace. Aroma has dark chocolate and toffee, plus some molasses, some light roast, and some lactose. Taste is of bakers chocolate, sweet toffee, some roastiness with burnt espresso notes, a bit of molasses and some dark fruit. Super dry. Nicely bittersweet and smooooooth. Oats in there too? Medium bodied, there is little alcohol presence and the blend is quite good. Finishes bone dry and solidly in the center of that bitter-sweet scale. This is a soft tasty brew. 14

Bottle. A- Woody, smoke, dark fruits, toasted vanilla, subtle coffee. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Char, wood, smoke, toasted marshmallow, dark fruits, roasty, mild bitterness, subtle espresso. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- For almost 2 years old, I figured this might lose it's luster. Sure enough, it was good as all get out. Starts out with sweet dark fruits and some wood notes, then fades into some char and smoked earthy notes, and finally finishes with some toasted marshmallow as it warms. Really good stuff.
