With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

The head is brown and robust, the body is black. It smells sweet, chocolate, a bit roasty, creamy. The taste is sweet, a bit roasted toasty, but more darkmalty-strange, a bit chocolate. In the aftertaste a bit roastmalty, bitter. I most like the aftertaste. Drinkable. 13/11/10/10/13/10

Fles. Aangename, niet al te sterk-smakende porter. Lichtjes - zeg maar subtiel. Prima. Geen lange nadronk.

I’m having my first ever Icelandic beer! It’s the Icelandic Toasted Porter by Einstök Ölgerđ. It’s coming in at 6% ABV and it’s brewed with Icelandic roasted coffee. It sounds lovely! It pours out deep dark brown with a beige head on it. It looks pitch black in the glass. The aroma is rather mild and sweet. You definitely pick up on the coffee though! It smells like a nice roasty yet sweet cup of coffee. It’s reminding me a bit of a milk stout actually. The taste is sweet, milky and slightly roasted just like the aroma. The aftertaste is all roasted coffee. Really nice! The mouthfeel i medium; not too thin and not too thick like a stout. It’s just right. The beer slides right down while the flavors coats your pallet. I’m really liking this beer so far. A great coffee porter!

Chopp. Black colour, light brown head. Pleasant roasty malty aroma with chocolate and some smoke to it too. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, lirorice and a bit smoke.

Bottle shared at home. Near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of big coffee, roast, dark chocolate, cocoa, toffee and caramel. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Deep dark brown pour with a thin light beige head. Nice dark cocoa and slightly sweet marshmallow like nose with slightly roasty tones. Smooth mellow flavor thats a little roasty, a little toasty, light marshmelllw fluffy sweetness and a gentle cocoa finish. Pretty nice, a little light but tasty.

(330 ml bottle) Pours a jet-black beer, with a thin beige head. The aroma is just what you’d expect: extremely roasty, with bucketloads of coffee and dark chocolate, toast, caramel, toffee, fresh malt, vanilla, and a hint of fig. This leads to oak, tobacco smoke, and freshly-tanned leather on the finish. This porter is powerful and bitter. The mouthfeel seems just a little too fizzy, and it’s a rather too bitter for my palate. However, the aromas are smooth and well-blended, and the overall craftsmanship of the beer clearly deserves recognition.

330 ml bottle, looks like the bottled on date is 12.07.16, and the best before date is 12 JUL 2018. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like toffee, nuts, chocoate, coffee, roasted malt and some dark fruit (plums). Taste is similar to the aroma, I think the toffee, chocolate and roasty flavors are the strongest, with some coffee, nutty and dark fruit flavors still noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it’s a good enjoyable porter, definitely worth picking up! $2.59 a single bottle.

It pours dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is moderate. The initial aromas feature chocolate, hints of expresso, hints of coffee, and some roast. It has coffee flavors with roast, chocolate, and dark fruits. The dark fruits are plums with a hint of cherry. There is also hint of toast in the background. It has a moderate feel with a sweet finish that highlights the dark fruits. Overall, it is a beer that features a malt balance with dark fruits blended it.
