Pershing (594) - Garland, Texas, USA - JAN 14, 2018
Reddish murky pour into a stemmed chalice glass. Fast dissolving head with very little visual carbonation. Aromas of plum and cereal malts. Medium body that is slightly cloying and sweet with some backside hop bitterness. Sweet finish with the alcohol kicking in towards the end.

BlackHaddock (7956) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2018
330ml bottle into a Corsendonk glass on 13th Jan 2018 while on holiday in California. Misty brown, red hue, beige head, deep and full. Aroma has a spiced malty front, nutmeg and cinnamon came to mind, light smokiness in both the nose and taste, sweet molasses rule to flavour really though. Very pleasant sipper, take your time with this, it's not for rushing (or sharing).

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 08/Aug/2019, from Alko Arkadia, 20180113) The beer poured deep reddish brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, molasses and lightly liquorice. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were caramel, sweetness, toasted malts, molasses, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A pleasant strong malty brew.

Clear or perhaps very slight haze deep red amber colour with medium off-white foam. Aromas are sweet of caramel, sweet buns, butterscotch, plums and dried fruits as well as nice smooth warming booze notes. Palate, full body with very smooth almost creamy texture leaving soft light malty finish. Taste, sweet of caramel and malts with notes of bread and light booziness lingering. Overall, nice smooth brew with awesome aromas and palate, however, taste is good but after a second it does plummet in a way does not take you on a full ride to taste land.

I enjoyed this very much. First sip rushes back memories of drinking the Optimator at the Essen Haus in Madison at my bro's bachelor party. It has a touch of black liquorish flavor, similar to the Optimator. I'll be having this one again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
