@ the Great British Beer Festival 2004. From my notes: Sweet & malty. A nice beer.

Bottled - GBBF 2004. A dark brown beer with a sweet, malty, nutty aroma. The taste is typically dunkel with lots of malt. An OK beer to follow up the Drie Fonteinen!

Insgesamt ok. Test vom 17.3.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

(bottle) pours a clear ruby-orange colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of grass, cornflakes and powdered sugar, with light notes of smoked ham, dark fruit and caramel. flavour is roasted malts, milk chocolate and caramel, also slightly composty. thin body with average carbonation.

Clear, dark brown color with tan head. Aroma is classic sweet toasted malt, caramel and dark bread. Taste starts sweet and bready, continues with a touch of cola and caramel and finishes slightly astringent. Overall it’s classic dunkel with a light body and medium effervescence.

chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2004
Mainly dry malt here. Has a sweetish edge, but not too sweet. A reasonable middle of the road dunkel - neither exciting nor unpleasant. Bottled at GBBF 2004.

2.8
Grima (2506) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - JUL 21, 2011
The beer in the glass shining dark brown with slightly reddish touch. Smells like sweet and dark malts. Starts with lots of roasted malts, a slight sweetness comes through. Finish is malty bitter, with roasted coffee and hints of chocolate!
