3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted 21/12/2007. 330ml bottle from Regionals. Brilliant, lambent dark rose-gold - tending amber - with a creamy white head. Bready, milled-grain malt character dominates the first nose. On closer inspection there is a rose-like perfumy character. That carries through into the mouth, where toffee and a strong alcohol character, with a slight burn, dominates. Sweet. A little alcohol spice. No noticeable hop character, as you’d expect, but it could do with some. Too strong and cloying for me too enjoy. The bready character from the nose, comes through as a cereal note on the palate.
Pours light brown with a thin head. Aroma is caramel, fruit and lactose. Taste is sweet fruit, light caramel and clove. Finish is dominated by alcohol burn. Doesn't disguise booze well, but an interesting beer. vinivini (3009) - Gomel, BELARUS - OCT 23, 2017
Straight from can. Pleasant aroma. Honey malts, melon-like esters. Medium to full body. The taste is rather sweet. Malty. Boozy. Estery. Light bitterness. OK. WillemsUrenkel (2021) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - OCT 9, 2017

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2017 Aroma of caramel and honey and nuts and alcohol . slightly hazy amber pour with minimal head. Flavor is sweet caramel, honey, prune, alcoholic . Thick sticky body with low prickly carbonation. Sharp sweet and alcohol finish. The type of beer that should come in 7-oz bottles.

Pours amber with light off-white head. Aroma is caramel, hay, some berries, alcohol, raisin, some fat, light toffee. Taste is creamy, thick, alcohol, sugar, some berries, warming, liqueur, fat. A lot of alcohol in aftertaste. Drinkable, but not the whole bottle. GSAP (757) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 23, 2017

A very strong doppelbock. I am amazed that this is not considered an eisbock, but still a good beer. Sweet beginning at the mouthful, then alcohol warmth comes across. Minimal carbonation, and is definitely a sipping beer.
