This world-famous beer has the character and richness to stand in for fine sherry or port. Just the right degree of sweetness - never cloying; wonderfully aromatic and warming. EKU 28 is the one whenever something good and strong is needed.

Not knowing exactly how to categorize this beer, it's hard to tell how we'll it meets the expectations of its type. Needless to say however, at 11% ABV it packs a wallop, more like the Russian variants of a malt liquor than its German heritage would suggest. Not that unlike a Belgian dubbel with the presence of a quad, it just fails to present enough flavor to underscore its abundant alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

En stærk smag, meget bitter. God smag, men ikke en man skal have mere end en af.

A very strong doppelbock. I am amazed that this is not considered an eisbock, but still a good beer. Sweet beginning at the mouthful, then alcohol warmth comes across. Minimal carbonation, and is definitely a sipping beer.

This wasn’t too good. Beer with a strong alcoholic taste just for the taste of alcohol...

Acaro (234) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAR 23, 2017
Aroma: Strong caramel and toast notes with an alcoholic touch. Appearance: Red amber color with hazy liquid and minimal white head. Taste: Heavy sweet touch with light sour notes. Palate: Full body with sticky oily texture and flat carbonation. Long sweet and alcoholic finish. Overall: The kind of beer you like or not, there is not a middle point. I have tried beers with higher alcohol percentage with less alcoholic feeling.

33cl bottle purchased @ Casino. Belle note de caramel et final très liquoreux.

floydslip (398) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 10, 2017
Deep mahogany colored beer with a medium foamy light beige head that drops thick lace. Nose of candied nuts, caramel, and toffee, but it’s a bit faint. Flavor is more pronounced and sweet with the same basic flavors as the nose with an overarching acrid flavor that is a bit off-putting. Hides the alcohol well, but the flavor is a bit strange.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2016 Aus de Flasche in Heidelberg getrunken. Dunkles Amber mit wenig Schaum im Glas. Sehr malz-sprittig. Tripel-Bock.
