1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
*Slightly* darker yellow than most macros and most Mexican brews. Weak, yet sticky head. Strange aroma. Very strange. Weird taste. Notice this is Mexican STYLE ale. Not actually Mexican beer. This is Sprechers version of Mexican beer, and is very strange, weird, and sucky.
Draft. Light barley malt and straw aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet barley malt and straw flavor. Decent - better than most actual Mexican beers. kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2013
Yellow pour with white head. Good creamy lager with a sweet backbone. Not bad. Had this on draft at the sprecher brewpub in lake Geneva, IL. Lemke10 (996) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Pours a golden yellow color with only a slight head by the time it got to the table and was served with a lime. The scent was very limey and that was about it. The taste was also rather strong with lime flavors but yet was crisp and clean with a light taste. It drank rather smooth and finished clean. Not an ideal beer for every drinking occasion but is by far a better choice than Bud Light Lime.

Not a bad beer, but nothing that special. Better than most "big name" mexican beers (corona, modelo, etc). Great summertime lawnmower beer.

Golden pour... funky aroma.... Taste is hard to expkain has some lemon finish sort of dry...just ok.. CanIHave4Beers (4241) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - NOV 15, 2011
This is one of those beers where i think maybe it might have been "better" put into context. That is if there is a "context". Is this supposed to be some sort of a re-creation of a historical style of beer from Mexico? Is there at very least some president for calling this beer "Mexican Style" outside of the fact that it is contract brewed for a Mexican super market? I don’t know. The beer pours a golden color with a big white head.
The aroma is faint, but gets a little bit more pronouced as the beer warms. Generally is smells like corn flour with a little bit of fruit that’s starting to get a little funky.
The flavor holds this weird love hate thing with me, it’s weird, and sort of funky, salty, kind of tart, but corny and kind of Malt liquor-y. It’s like if you mixed some Corona, some Gose, and some Olde English 800 together. I like the Gose-y elements fine enough.
Totally weird but somehow not totally offensive.
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Bottle. Light yellow/straw pour with a minimal white head. Aroma is bread dough and slight corn, and something kind of skunky. Light palate. Taste is slightly better than the aroma - also some bread dough and corn. Not very good. heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 29, 2011
Bottle. A slightly hazy bronze gold colored brew with a thin white head. The nose has dough, corn and some sweet apples. The taste is fairly sweet, like watered down apple juice with hints of lemons. There is also some light dough. Bland overall, this one is possibly infected, but I notice all the other rates state the same flavors. Just a strange one. wlajwl (7210) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 27, 2011
Odd sweet maltiness in aroma, almost artificial. The flavor is sweet and funky, with a bit of spice. Strange idea for an ale, not the worst, but could be a lot better.
