Two-row malt, meet Nelson Sauvin and Citra. Fast friends indeed. As sleek as a 9% DIPA can be with the sharp hop tone of lemon peels filled in by orange marmalade and just utter dankness. And you thought those tankers off-shore were just unloading crude...
2 pounds of dry hops per barrel. That’s right.

Previously 9%.

markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 21, 2016
Bottle from Bine and Vine. Pours a amber-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, some sweet orange, and some grass followed by huge hoppy bitterness. Flavor hits with a bit of light malt and an all-out assault on the palate with tropical fruit hops. Medium in body and blisteringly hoppy. Very nice.

Zymurgeist2 (2385) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUN 22, 2016
Bottle to tulip. Massive dank with moderate grape must. Clear orange with white head. Taste is tropical and pine with forest floor.

4/V/16 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ work BBQ - BB: n/a, bottled: III/11/16 (2016-493) Thanks to t0rin0 for the trade and Akke for muling!

Clear orange beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: sweet very malty start, alcohol, caramel, some honey, fruity, sweet and sugary. Aftertaste: resinous bitterness, fruity, some mango and banana. Although this is rather fresh, I don’t get much of the Citra or Nelson...

emacgee (4708) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - APR 26, 2016
Beautiful soft gold pour with one to two fingers of white head. Very nice nose with lots of resin, citrus rind, pear, candy, peaches and a soft sweetness. Strong in the flavor with lots of resin and citrus rind. Very forward bitterness upfront that finishes moderate. Medium full body.

tillmac62 (761) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2016
BOD 3/11/16. Pours a clear dark gold with a touch of garnet. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.

Outstanding nose of dank citrus (lemon) over a nice cracker biscuit. Underneath are hints of light spruce and grape.

Light medium body that is smooth. Well balanced carbonation level for the body with a light effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly finish.

The flavor profile is very good. The 9.2% alcohol is reasonably covered, but does deliver a somewhat strong astringency before, during and after the finish. Balance is world class with a rich sweet (caramel, biscuit) middle providing balance to a moderate bitterness. Here the flavors separate, allowing hop complexity to shine. Mango, lemon, light spicy spruce and subtle zest flow over the dank undercurrent. As the sweetness fades, so go the hop flavors and the dank aspect, slightly vegetal, dominates. The finish is dry with a dank and slightly astringent alcohol off flavor that lingers.

phaleslu (10747) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2016
Draft at Beercraft shared by one of the bros. Pours a clear gold color with a small eggshell white head that settles into a ring while lacing the glass. Has a sugary cream note atop citrus and florals, pale malts, marmalade, and pine. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a very sweet, barely bitter mouthfeel. Out of balance, and not in a favorable direction for me.

Leighton (22544) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2016
Keg at Beercraft during ’RBWG 2016’. Pours clear orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Fresh, juicy citrus fruits in the nose, some pine accents. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with moderate piney and grassy bitterness, grapefruit, alcohol, melon. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming and resinous on the finish, with some bready pale malts, booze, orange, tangerine, oily pine. Heavy-hitting gear - it’s just a little too much.
