Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle, via trade with HopDog. Poured thick black, opaque, with a large light brown feathery head, nice lacing, beautiful "guiness" liveliness to the pour - top marks. Rich, nutty, oily overroast malty aroma, strong coffee and a cereal toastiness that I guess is the oatmeal ... there are even hops in here too! The flavour has a nice mild acidity and slightly curdled milk character added to it (that’s a plus, believe it or not), with some chocolate cherry and herbal hops in there too - the body is a tad watery, but it’s creamy, smooth, lightly carbonated and has a rich, satisfying creamy balanced finish that I appreciated. I imagine this would be kick-ass on cask when fresh - excellent sweet stout. Thanks for the share, P! (and I think this now puts me in the "Stouties* list for the first time - yay!! blankboy (7780) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of hopdog. Pours a deep dark black with a large foamy lasting mocha head. Wonderful roasty and nutty aroma with some coffee, oatmeal and dark chocolate along for the ride. Flavour, oh yeah, that’s different and quite tasty: I agree with HogTownHarry, there’s a milky aspect to the flavour but in a good way along with chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and some hops for good measure. Creamy mouthfeel and goes down smooth but could be a little more full bodied. This was a brewery I never heard of and an ’extra’ from my trade with hopdog so I didn’t know what to expect but I must say, I am pleasantly surprised as this is a damn fine beer. Thanks hopdog! Really black, not much head. Big aromas of chocolate, coffee, and then big flavors of dark chocolate, black coffee, and then a kind of a fruity, cherry-like flavor. There are really no subtle flavors here, everything is up front and vying for your attention. Really tasty stuff. Sampled at Noogfest2. buckybeer (666) - Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 1, 2006
Got this one from IrishBoy. Thank you. Pours almost black with giant tan head. A beautiful pour. Looks like a dessert. Aroma & flavor is of dark chocolate and mild nutty coffee with a light smoked finish. Very very nice. nickd717 (4818) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 2, 2009
This is a sweet stout in more than one way. Poured black with a small tan head. Coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt one the aroma and flavor. Smooth palate with low carbonation, incredibly drinkable.

12oz bottle. Opaque blackness, rusty orange-tan head that fades away into soapy patches after a few sips. Sweet chocolate aroma with a touch of pungency to it. Sweet and malty with a watery smooth finish, this is an awesome, sessionable example of a Sweet/Caribbean Stout, not really so much capturing the Oatmeal. Creamy and smooth, with lots of chocolate malt flavor. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 29, 2009
Bottle, Brew 1372. Poured medium-viscosity deep brown with a yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up very sweet toasted cocoa, molasses, and vanilla with some oat backing.. a little char to darken it up.. very nice presentation. The flavor found rolled oats, molasses, and black patent maltage with lots of vanilla and come coffee bitterness around the edges.. toasty, sweet, and tasty. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate, despite the hefty sweetness present.. not quite as smooth a feel as I wanted, but mighty enjoyable aside from that!
