Almost transparent, very dark walnut body, with a very thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee, flavor shows bittersweet chocolate and coffee, with a little hoppiness in the finish. jake65 (4000) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Bottle: The commercial description is right on for this brew. Lots of flavor in a light bodied stout. Deep brown, almost black color with a small tanned head. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a very light hop note. Very tasty. Bartzilla (624) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 24, 2006
On tap @ Stonehouse in Nevada City. Dark as night with a brown head and lots of robust coffee roasted chocolate delicious flavors going on. A very nice example of how an oatmeal stout should be. A very welcome surprise to the evening and highly recommended. DocLock (11049) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 6, 2007
Pours jet black with 1-finger tan head. Aroma is liquid raisins dipped in dark chocolate and molasses. Tastes rather sweet, with the malt mixed with raisin, plum, cinnamon, brown sugar, tobacco, mild maple syrup, and prunes, even some blackberry notes. Rich complex palate that gets a tad tart late, but retains a complex flavor and aroma profile. I didn;t expect this one to be so good. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 22, 2008
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Brennan’s Country Farm Market in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Pours a dark opaque near black brew with a thin light tan head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted dark malt, sine dark chocolate and coffee character with a touch of licorice and molasses. Taste is full bodied, semi-sweet with little carbonation along with flavors of roasted dark malt, a touch of flowery hops, oatmeal and some dark pitted fruits. Finish is semi-sweet at first and then a dry roasted dark malt aftertaste that sticks around after the finish.

Pitch black, brownish head from bottle. Oats really come through in the nose along with some coffee. Rich chocolate tones on the palate, fades to dark chocolate, coffee bitterness. Full body. Solid effort. kbutler1 (1382) - Minnesota, USA - APR 19, 2013
