Birra in stile Barley Wine adatta allinvecchiamento.
Per questa ricetta viene utilizzato un luppolo giapponese (Sorachi Ace) e un solo malto (Pale). La bollitura prolungata conferisce aromi caramellati e permette di ottenere un mosto molto concentrato.

Hazy amber color. Small off white head. Not much lacing. Huge fruity malty aroma. Malty flavor with some spicy notes. Vanilla and cream. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 08/2013, at Oluttupa Viisi Penni, 20130523) The beer poured reddish brown and hazy. Its head was very small and white. Aroma had coconut, malts and perfumes. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were coconut, malts, sweetness, some dried plum and medium bitterness. Afteraste was malty and bitter. The beer may have been without the horrid Sorachi Ace.

330ml bottle @ Viisi Penni, Helsinki

Pours dark orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of sweet fruity bubblegum, malts, sweet caramel and syrup. Taste is sweet and malty with notes of fruity bubblegum, hops, caramel and lots of toffee. Finish is sweet, syrupy, bubblegummy and caramely with some toffee and fruity notes. Still not a big fan of Sorachi Ace, which is quite dominant here.

Red amber color, much limpid one without bubbly presence, nearly no head resistance. Very fruity and little alcoholic aroma, notes of hop, soil, resin. Good first mouth impression, a lot mellow and watery body, but after that comes an overbanding bitter and alcoholic body, realy excessive malty and ashed woody content. Unbalanced and pretentious for my taste.

Almost no head over cloudy amber beer. Slight cheesy note from the S.A., cookies with caramel and toffee, pineapple, bit herbal, aromatic. Dry flavour with some hops, and melanoidin-rich malty background. But overlying is a strange, just-not-sourish flavour that somehow seems not right. Together with the utterly flat aspect, and almost ditto MF, I fear somethings amiss here, and not just a headdestructive ABV. Faint fruity notes - pineapple and banana maybe, maybe some preserved orange. Cheesiness is there too, but even less outspoken than in the nose. Quite slick. Not B.I. Elavs best try, IMO. Maybe just my bottle - bad luck?

Amber color with white head, not persistent. Burn, malt caramel and toast aroma, also spicy. At taste is light sweet and so drinkable. Light-medium body with finish in strong bitterness.

Draft @ Brassigaume 2012. My favourite beer of the festival. Hazy orange, bubbly white head. Smell is a sweet lovely concoction of caramel, sugar, syrup, prune jam, flowers, solid malt base, some very sweet strong liquor feel to it. Sweet caramel, malt base, light prune jam, sweet strong liquor, touch pine resin, tropical fruits, mango, creamy, caramel apples. Softer carb. light oozy body lovely.
