COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra in stile Barley Wine adatta all’invecchiamento.
Per questa ricetta viene utilizzato un luppolo giapponese (Sorachi Ace) e un solo malto (Pale). La bollitura prolungata conferisce aromi caramellati e permette di ottenere un mosto molto concentrato.

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, caramel, and lemons. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel soup, malt, alcohol, and citrusy hops, leading to a dry, bitter, and alcoholic finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Billynomates solo hotel tasting. Hazy gold - amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and slightly soft. Modest fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, dry. Good Sorachi floral lemon cream. Very mild herb. Semi dry finish shows some spice. Nice beer but it’s more of a Sorachi IIPA than a Barleywine.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. That lovely coconut smell of Sorachi Ace dominate the nose. Rich body, low carbonation, lots of caramel and exotic fruits - very complex. Rich alcoholic finish. Lovely - my first Sorachi Ace Barley Wine. 200612

Trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher weißer Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Früchten, Obst, leicht alkoholisch. So ist auch der Geschmack.

Hazy amber color; medium head. Nice aroma, malty and hoppy, a bit fruity, light wood and vanilla. Good malty flavor, full bodied, with nice sweetness, and pungent hopping, helped by some alcohol presence too.
Very good. Drink it fresh.

330ml bottle (Viisi Pennia, Helsinki) - shared by mjs - thanks!
Big coconut aroma, but with some intangible pineapple or other sharp fruitiness. I normally don’t like sorachi ace, but this is remarkably pleasant. Some rye bread and butter too. Hazy orange, but you really have to fight to put a head on it. Smooth palate, sweetish and a bit slick, but the OK carbonation stop oit from becoming cloying. Sweet full malts, a touch chewy, but it keeps the alcohol at bay. The Sorachi ace coconut keeps cropping up but it’s still on the tasty side rather than annoying. I hate to say this for a sorachi ace beer, but I enjoyed this. I just now hope I get off the tram at the right stop!
